Iarla Ó Lionáird & Steve Cooney
Iarla Ó Lionáird’s singing style has carried him to stages and concert halls all over the world.
His singing style is very much in keeping with the majestic song tradition of his native homeplace, Cúil Aodha, in Co Cork. From his iconic early recording of “Aisling Geal”, as a young boy to his work with the Gloaming, which continues to dazzle audiences worldwide, Iarla has become one of the true voices of Ireland, literally.
Steve Cooney moved from Australia to his ancestoral home of Ireland in 1981, where he has built a reputation as a truly gifted guitar player. He first joined Stockton’s Wing, and after moving to Dingle, he then teamed up with Séamus Begley. The rest is history!
The combination of both Iarla and Steve, has to be seen to be believed.
